Davidoff: Winston Churchill The Late Hour Series Petit Panetela Cigars

Davidoff's Winston Churchill series pays tribute to the life and times of England's greatest statesman, the eponymous former prime minister a prolific cigar smoker. It's fitting, then, that Davidof celebrates his achievements this way, the complex blends and robust flavors reminiscent of Churchill's notoriously complicated personality. This particular iteration of the blend is the Late Hour, a more robust smoke compared to the original Winston Churchill line, and one that features a complex array of filler tobaccos. These fillers include Olor, Piloto and San Vicente from the Dominican Republic, alongside Sumatran tobacco and Nicaraguan tobacco from the Condega and Estelí regions, with the leaves from Condega being aged in scotch casks. This cask aging imparts a special smoky flavor that enhances the cigar's complexity and pays homage to one of Churchill's preferred libations. The fillers are covered by an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro Marron wrapper and a Mexican San Andrés Negro binder, combining to make for a medium-full-bodied smoking experience that's rich with flavor. This Petit Panatela vitola was originally made as a limited edition of 50,000 cigars, or 10,000 tins of five, exclusively for the International market, but it's now available as a regular production cigar: all packaged into convenient five-count tins.
