Diamond Crown: Pyramid #7 Natural Cigars

Crafted by the Fuente family for J.C. Newman Cigar Co., the Diamond Crown line was introduced in 1995 to commemorate Newman's 100th anniversary. The Natural line presents fillers and binder from the Dominican Republic in a twice-fermented Connecticut Shade wrapper from the United States. Most quality tobacco leaves are normally hung in barns, dried, and bulked for a single fermentation prior to being packed in bales and eventually rolled into cigars. Diamond Crown, though, utilizes a second fermentation process for its Natural cigars. After their first fermentation, five-year-old Connecticut wrapper leaves are unpacked from the bale and then conditioned and graded. The best leaves are then selected and placed in bulks for a second fermentation. This second curing process develops the rich color this cigar as well as its delicious flavor profile, providing notes of cream, vanilla, nuts, cedar, and subtle spice.
