Drew Estate's Undercrown Maduro cigars come on the heels of their esteemed Liga Privada #9, featuring a similar profile but with more readily available tobaccos, making the Undercrown more accessible to connoisseurs. A Mexican Otapan Negro Último Corte wrapper — essentially a San Andrés Maduro tobacco that was harvested weeks later than usual for more sun time and a higher natural sugar content — encases a binder of stalk-cut Connecticut Habano leaf (also used as the wrapper for Liga Privada's T52 cigar) and a filler blend of Nicaraguan Cuban-seed and Brazilian Mata Fina tobaccos, presenting a flavor profile rich in notes of coffee, nuts, spice, and chocolate.
