Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. continues the Carrillo family's Cuban cigar-making legacy, following in the footsteps of his father, who established a Cuban cigar factory in 1948 before later moving to Miami. Handmade in the Dominican Republic at the Carrillos' factory and utilizing Nicaraguan fillers and binder, the E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut is a modern reimagining of Connecticut-wrapped cigars. It showcases an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, but instead of the typically mellow flavor profile characteristic of such cigars, the New Wave Connecticut combines a sense of richness with a spicy kick, merging creamy sweetness with hints of pepper for a complex and nuanced smoke.

It's not a common taste. It's a good choice. Slightly tight, burning well.If you like Cuban cigars, don't try. It's a good choice for non-Cuban cigars.
