Foundation Cigar Company: The Upsetters Small Axe Cigars
Product Number: 007-847-0057
The Upsetters were the house reggae band for Jamaican producer Lee "Scratch" Perry throughout the 1970s. Drawing inspiration from iconic Westerns and gunslingers, The Upsetters were not only influential within Jamaica's reggae scene but also grew as cultural symbols representing the underdog and anti-hero. As a cigar series, The Upsetters by Foundation honors founder Nick Melillo's passion for Jamaica and the country's unique Cow Tongue tobacco: In 1996, Nick first smoked a Macanudo Hyde Park cigar that had been crafted in Kingston, helping catalyze his love for cigars and giving him an appreciation for Jamaica's once vibrant tobacco culture. The Upsetters revives that tradition by utilizing Jamaica's Cow Tongue tobacco, whose origins date back to the indigenous Arawak people who once occupied the island, and features striking imagery that pays homage to iconic Jamaican musicians.
United by a blend of Nicaraguan and Jamaican fillers and infused with distinct essences, The Upsetters line comprises eight cigars divided across Candela, Connecticut Shade, and Maduro wrappers. Offered here is the 4.5" x 40 Small Axe vitola, featuring a Connecticut Shade wrapper.
Note: It's recommended that infused cigars be stored away from non-infused cigars to avoid any sharing of aromas.
