Foundation Cigar Company: Metapa Claro Doble Corona Cigars

Product Number: 007-847-0070

Another signature series from Foundation Cigar Company that pays tribute to the rich, vibrant history of Latin America, Metapa honors Rubén Darío, a famous Nicaraguan poet. Darío is best known for founding the literary movement Modernismo, which utilized cryptic symbolism to celebrate Latin American culture during the turn of the 20th century. The blend takes its name from Darío's hometown, Metapa, Nicaragua, which has since been renamed Cuidad Darío in his honor. Furthermore, the word "Metapa" holds powerful symbolic significane in Modernismo, as it was derived from an indigenous term for agave plants, which appeared often in Darío's poetry.

Moreover, the Metapa series provided an ideal opportunity for Foundation Cigar Company to introduce a component they were longing to incorporate into a blend: an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. Said wrapper is accompanied by a Nicaraguan-grown Connecticut Broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa. The sumptuous Metapa blend is offered here in a 7" x 54 Doble Corona vitola.
