Foundation Cigar Company's Aksum series derives it name from the ancient Kingdom of Askum, which existed from 150 BC to 960 AD. The modern city of Askum is located in Ethiopa, and according to some, it is home to the Ark of the Covenant. The Aksum cigar's box and band art features an image of Ras Makonnen, who was the city of Aksum's governor around the turn of the 20th century. As a blend, Foundation's Aksum features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a mixture of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos. It boasts a rich, tantalizing flavor profile, offering notes of leather, earth, cedar, and spice.
