Foundation Cigar Company: The Wise Man Corojo Robusto Cigars
Product Number: 007-847-0087
Foundation Cigars was founded in 2015 by Nicholas Melillo, and they made their debut the same year with El Guëguënse, a cigar whose name translates into English as "The Wise Man." El Guëguënse pays tribute to the culture and art of Nicaragua, being named in honor of the eponymous Nicaraguan satirical folk play written in the 16th century in both Spanish and the indigenous Nahuatl language. El Guëguënse is one of the oldest theatrical performances of the Americas and Nicaragua's signature drama — expressing the country's linguistic, historical, and cultural heritage through colorful costumes and dramatic dances.
In 2024, El Guëguënse joined The Wise Man Maduro to form a unified series known, appropriately, as The Wise Man. Every cigar from The Wise Man line is rolled in the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and they boast an all-Nicaraguan blend of binder and filler tobacco: a double binder from Estelí and Jalapa, and fillers from Condega, Estelí and Jalapa. The Wise Man Corojo is a true Nicaraguan puro, with a Nicaraguan Corojo-seed wrapper, and it features a medium-bodied flavor profile with notes of cedar, spice, and subtle sweetness.
