Limited Cigar Association: 1491 (by Chico Rivas) Cigars

Product Number: 007-882-0036

Introduced by Privada Cigar Club in 2020, the Limited Cigar Association offers one of the most unique opportunities in the cigar industry: Instead of fashioning cigars themselves, Privada partners with some of the most respected brands and personalities in the industry to create limited-production cigars released exclusively through LCA to its retail partners. These special cigars are available only through LCA, and they release a new one every month, ensuring that connoisseurs can always anticipate something fresh and exciting.

In 2022, Privada and LCA debuted a regular-production core lineup, offering aficionados quality LCA cigars on a consistent basis to accompany their limited monthly releases. The 1491 cigar celebrates tobacco as it existed over 500 years ago. It entirely comprises Corojo tobacco from the Dominican Republic and was blended by Chico Rivas to honor indigenous Dominican leaf. It's a replication of the tobacco that the indigenous Taíno people would have smoked before Columbus arrived in the Caribbean in 1492 — a celebration of the first peoples to cultivate tobacco and offered in a singular 6" x 50 vitola. Moreover, unlike many of LCA's other cigars, the 1491 is a more regular-production, more consistently available blend.
