Limited Cigar Association: Massacre Cigars

Introduced by Privada Cigar Club in 2020, the Limited Cigar Association offers one of the most unique opportunities in the cigar industry: Instead of fashioning cigars themselves, Privada partners with some of the most respected brands and personalities in the industry to create limited-production cigars released exclusively through LCA to its retail partners. These special cigars are available only through LCA, and they release a new one every month, ensuring that connoisseurs can always anticipate something fresh and exciting.

Released in February 2023, the Massacre cigar was blended and crafted exclusively for LCA by AJ Fernandez and was the first cigar rolled at AJ's new Annex factory. It bears a fitting, Valentine's Day motif, yet an unexpected one unrelated to the holiday's more conventionally romantic themes. Instead, the Massacre cigar references Al Capone's infamous attack on George "Bugs" Moran's rival Chicago gang on February 14, 1929 — the Saint Valentine's Day massacre. The fatal event saw Bugs lose control of Chicago's North Side and eventually led to Capone's imprisonment, while also forever iconizing the Tommy gun as a signature weapon of mobsters. As a cigar, the Massacre is a single 6.5" x 46 Lonsdale, comprising an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers, aged for two years prior to release.
