Micallef: Migdalia Petit Corona Cigars
Product Number: 007-910-0013
Micallef Cigars was founded in 2017 as a collaborative effort between Al Micallef, a successful entreprenuer, and Joel Gómez-Sanchez, the head of the Gómez-Sanchez cigar company since 1994. The roots of the Gómez-Sanchez brand stretch back to 1934 in Cuba, when Pedro Gómez, Joel's grandfather, established a tobacco company of his own, later passing on all of his knowledge to his grandson. This storied history lives on today through Micallef cigars, each hand rolled and blended by the Gómez-Sanchez family in their supervision of Micallef's factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The Migdalia blend is named in honor of Pedro's daughter, Migdalia Sanchez, who was born in Havana, Cuba, and graduated as a tobacconist at 17, her work at the Pártagas factory earning her a reputation as one of Cuba's best rollers. This cigar was named in her honor and was also blended by the master torcedor, comprising a Mexican San Andrés Habano wrapper atop a Sumatran binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.
