Montecristo is a storied brand whose history dates back to 1935, when it was founded in Cuba by Alonso Melendez. The brand rose to prominence through the mid-1900s, and amid the Cuban revolution, Menendez relocated to the Dominican Republic, where he re-established the brand for the U.S. Market. Montecristo's Nicaragua series was released in 2018 and features a blend by esteemed master of tobacco A.J. Fernandez, joining the ranks of the company's core portfolio. A Nicaraguan puro, the Nicaragua series boasts a robust flavor profile on the fuller end of the spectrum, its well-aged combination of tobaccos affording it a complex array of aromas.
