Meaning "sword" in Spanish, Montecristo's Espada cigar is a Nicaraguan puro comprising specially aged varietals from esteemed tobacco grower and factory supervisor Nestor Plasencia. The Espada Oscuro is the follow-up to the regular Espada release, and trades the original's 2010 Jalapa Habano wrapper for a rare Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper that amplifies both the flavor and strength of the blend. Outside of the wrapper, the binder and filler tobacco remain the same as the original edition, with a Jalapa-grown binder from 2009, and fillers from 2008 grown in Jalapa, Ometepe, and Condega. With each vitola named after certain components of a sword, the Montecristo Espada Oscuro cigar is a bold, spicy, and rich smoke for aficionados of Nicaraguan tobaccos.
