While the Oliva family has boasted a tobacco-growing tradition since 1886, they didn't begin producing their own cigars until 1995 when Gilberto Oliva and his son Gilberto Jr. founded Oliva Cigar Company. Since then, Oliva has become one of the most respected brands in the industry, recognized for their consistency, quality, and stalwart dependability. The Gilberto Reserva line was introduced in 2017 in honor of the family's patriarch, celebrating his legacy with two distinctive blends. The Gilberto Reserva version offered here showcases a Sumatran wrapper with an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers for a flavor profile described as dark spice, earth, cocoa, and leather, while the Gilberto Reserva Blanc version trades the Sumatran wrapper for one of Ecuadorian Connecticut leaf.
