About This Cigar
The roots of the Plasencia family's cigar tradition stretch back to 1865, when Eduardo Plasencia migrated to Cuba to cultivate tobacco. Over the following decades, the Plasencia family moved across Central America, founding farms in both Honduras and Nicaragua. Despite the success of their tobacco farms, the Plasencias never made cigars, deciding instead to sell their tobacco to prestigious cigar brands. However, in 2017, the fifth generation of Plasencia growers, Néstor Andrés Plasencia, ventured into the world of crafting premium cigars. Today, Plasencia is one of the most venerated names in the industry, boasting an expansive portfolio that fully utilizes their exquisite leaf.
For the second year in a row, Plasencia has created a limited-edition cigar to celebrate the World Cup. Named Triunfal, the Spanish word for "triumphal," this cigar comes in a 6.25" x 54 Toro format and features a wrapper from Finca La Tradición in the Jamastrán Valley of Honduras over a binder from Finca San Agustín from Olancho, Honduras and filler tobaccos from Finca La Tradición and Jalapa, Nicaragua. The blend evokes unity, resilience, and celebration: values that resonate deeply with the Plasencia family. Flavor notes include toffee, cedar, cream, toasted almonds, molasses and earth. With production capped at 5,000 boxes of 10 cigars, this release is quite limited, so secure yours today, and tune into the World Cup with a smoke that perfectly embodies the spirit of this treasured event.
