Viaje: Carolina Reaper Cigars

Debuting in 2015, Viaje's Pepper Series comprises several cigars named after and inspired by various hot peppers. The Jalapeño inaugurated the series, and in 2018, Viaje released the Carolina Reaper in celebration of one of the hottest peppers available — boasting a Scoville rating of over 1.6 million units. As a cigar, the Carolina Reaper is a Nicaraguan puro handmade at the Raíces Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras, in a singular, 4.875" x 50 Perfecto. Aptly named and with a flavor profile to match, it offers intense notes of pepper and spice and comes wrapped in red foil evocative of its namesake. In 2022, Viaje expanded the line with the limited-production Phat vitola, offering the same blend but in a 5.1875" x 55 Perfecto.
