Warped: Flor Del Valle Sky Flower Lancero Cigars

Literally meaning "flower of the valley," Warped's Flor Del Valle is a Nicaraguan puro. It debuted in 2014, capturing the attention of cigar connoisseurs with its modernized twist of an iconic old Cuban brand, revitalized through a unique flavor profile and vintage-style artwork. Flor Del Valle cigars are made entirely from esteemed Aganorsa tobacco and rolled at the Fernándezes' factory in Nicaragua (the first Warped cigar not to be produced at the El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami).

The limited edition Flor Del Valle Sky Flower is a slight deviation from the standard Flor de Valle line. It remains a Nicaraguan puro of 100% Aganorsa leaf, with a dual binder of Corojo '99 and Criollo '98 tobaccos encasing Nicaraguan fillers and wrapped in Jalapa Corojo '99, but the Sky Flower introduces medio tiempo leaf into the blend. Medio tiempo is an extremely rare leaf, occurring only at the very top of fewer than one out of every 10 tobacco plants. These special leaves are exposed to the most sunlight and take longer to ripen, offering a deep, nuanced flavor characteristic of historic Cubans. The addition of such leaf in the Sky Flower adds a deliciously distinct profile of sweet molasses, woodsy earth, dried fruits, cream, and spice, while also limiting production — Warped only producing the exclusive blend when they have enough medio tiempo leaf to do so and is presented here in a 7" x 40 Lancero vitola.

Furthermore, the Flor Del Valle Sky Flower comes complete with a QR tag on the cellophane wrapper. Originally designed for wine bottles (an industry in which Kyle Gellis of Warped is also heavily involved), the code can be scanned via a smart phone camera, linking to a description of the cigar and ensuring that it indeed came from Warped and isn't counterfeit.
