Product: Bengal Slices Bengal Slices 1.75oz
As a relatively new pipe smoker, I have a strong tendency towards english blends. I had read and heard of Bengal Slices as one of the standards for a traditional english blend.
After breaking the seal, the tin note was awesome. Definitely the orientals. The cakes seemed dry to me and I was concerned…but after smoking my first bowl, I am floored at how satisfying this blend is. This made me want to slow way down and really sip so I could savor every draw.
This is now a staple in my rotation. Well done....Read More

This became an instant winner for me within the first draws. This tobacco scratches the itch Frog Morgan Cellar left. The smoky Latakia with a sweet flavor added vibe that good crossovers provide. I remember getting through several bowls and wishing I had a bigger pipe. This is one of those blends that you finish the bowl and immediately load up your pipe again....Read More

This tobacco is like a symphony in your mouth. Complex flavors develop and mingle as you smoke. Perfectly balanced flavors, cool burning and barely requires a relight. A real gem. Highly recommended!

Recently been on a huge English kick, I cant seem to try any other blends because I cant stop loading the pipe up with this stuff. Perfect balance of the tobaccos with what tastes like an anise topping just really brings this blend over the top for me. A definite tasting and smoking pleasure, if you haven't tried it yet what are you waiting for!!!!...Read More

It is a very pleasant cool smoke with an adequate nicotine smoke. Each bowl lasts a long time. The room note is fine. The taste is nice. It is one of those smokes that you can pleasantly exhale through your nose without any discomfort. One of my top smokes alongside Three Nuns Green.

I would give this blend 5 stars if I could get the nic hit to satisfy my vitamin N deficiency. But it is a little on the milder side. That being said, this is a winner and not one you would just smoke for the nicotine. This is not a blend you smoke when you mow the lawn. This blend demands your complete attention. The complexity and depth of flavors ebb and flow in and out playing on each other and transporting you to flavor fantasy land. Smoke it slow and in a medium sized bowl and experience smokey sweetness that is second ro none. This one can be smoked by anyone as it smokes easy and cool but will be enjoyed more by those experienced smokers who know how to get the most out of a smoke session....Read More

Tin note of fermented fruity, anise and smoky. Tobacco is a Krumble Kake of black, brown and tan. Moisture content is great. Rubs out easily. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild to medium. Flavoring is mild to medium, with notes of Anise or Licorice. I'm leaning toward Anise because sweetness (I detect more than a natural amount) and the lack of bitterness (or I detect a "normal" amount). Regardless, the flavoring gradually drops to the background by the 1/2 way point and remains a faint reminder. Taste is medium to full and very consistent, with complex notes of floral, sweet, anise, smoky, musty vegetation/hay, toast, spicy, wood, spices, savory, orange peel/zest, rich earth, mildly bitter, mild fermented sour, lemon grass, a tart and tangy citrusy herbal incense background note, and a moderately peppery retro. Latakia is leading with strong support from the Flavoring, Oriental/Turkish and Virginia. Black Cavendish gives minor support. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More
