In light of other reviews, I may of gotten a bad batch. Hard to imagine something that smelled so good "in the tin" lost it's taste and smell when lit. Your mileage my varry.

Tastes Like It Smells

If you desire a moderately sweet aromatic that tastes exactly as it smells, Egg Nog is something you should try. Buy a single tin and experiment with it a bit to see if it works with you and your pipes. Personally, I love this blend, but it can prove to be an unruly, peppery beast if you draw on it too hard or try to smoke it in a pipe with a narrow airway. First, I have to say that I wouldn’t consider this to be strictly a holiday blend as it was a good all-around, everyday smoke, however it could fill that void as a holiday blend for some. The tin note was that of vanilla, nutmeg, sweet caramel, with maybe a hint of cinnamon detected. The moisture content of the tobacco in the tin was spot on perfect, which makes this tobacco easy to pack, light, and maintain a steady burn through to the bottom of the bowl. Upon lighting the pipe there were subtle hints of sweetness which remain throughout the entire smoke, however there was more of a spiciness that comes to the front of the pallet. By mid-bowl there was a mild nutty flavor which seemed to remain through to the end of the smoke. The room note according to the wife was mild, but definitely sweet and warm....Read More

I knew this tobacco would become one of my favorite as soon as I opened the tin... I spent the holidays working in the Bahamas and it just didn't seem like Christmas in the tropical island paradise. That is, until I fired up my Bing's Favorite with Hearth and Home's Egg Nog! I found this tobacco to be a very mild, bite-free blend with an aroma that even Santa would love.
