Not much special happening here, especially from a premium tinned brand. The virginias are mellow with a little sweetness, not very bright but instead dark and rich. The perique is barely present, just detectable. Neither shines, neither stands out. They just sit in the corner like two very quiet dinner guests whose personalities gel together harmoniously, but probably only because they have no personality to speak of. They don't offend, but they don't entertain or contribute to the conversation either. Above all what we have here is a very mild, muted blend that doesn't do much for the palate. Age doesn't help either; it only makes the blend even more mellowed out and muted and boring. Granted, I've preferred English/Balkan blends for years now, but I do still appreciate a good VaPer, VaBur, or straight Virginia. This one just isn't it....Read More

Tin note of pungent sweet, vinegar and fruit. Tobacco is a Krumble Kake of a marbled reddish brown, dark brown and a little black and tan. Moisture content is good. Cake breaks apart and rubs out easily. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium and very consistent, with notes of sweet dark ripe plums, spice, tart and tangy citrus, floral, peaty hay, wood, fermented vegetation, bready, lemon grass, savory, slightly spicy, slightly acidic, a slightly sour sugared raisin background note, and a peppery retro. Virginia is leading with Cavendish and Perique supporting. Room note is pleasant to tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More

Tin has rasin notes, cut is easy to rub out, and taste isn't too spicy on snorkle. Happy to have purchased five tins. We need some date codes on tins, please. Enjoy yourselves!
Edit: 15 months age on a tin I burried in a stash/hoard. Tested twice. Makes a difference that is noticeable.

This is my midweek go to late night smoke. When you are in the mood for a contemplative late night session. Not too bold. Not too mellow. A medium smoking experience. The cake is a great format as one can slice off exactly the amount one desires and crumble it into a fat bowled pipe. It's raisony. It's classic Virgina but the Perique gives it that little je ne sais pas element that is understated, yet at the same time pronounced. It's quite subtle but I rather like that. The virginias dominate but the Perique is beautifully balanced as an afterburner. Open a good book. This crumble kake vaper is a great tobacco with sweeteness & spice from the periuqe.. I’m still trying to figure out the main flavors & nuances it has. I’m kind of puzzled & it has me kind of stumped, a guy on YouTube said it best, & I wholeheartedly agree, with his assessment & review on this blend, that this vaper keeps changing flavors every time I smoke it, it never taste consistent with the flavors it has,.. I left this tin in a drawer for about a year and forgot about it. Came back to it today and was blown away. The cavendish was very present early, but slowly gave way to the red virginia, while the figgy perique was there the whole time. This was a great experience, as the tingly aspect of the red came on slowly mid smoke. I like that red bite, but sometimes it can come on too strong too early - that didn't happen here. I am "addicted" to this one because it is that good. I love it! Sour, plum, raisin and lemon - refreshing. The Cavendish will give you a bit of sweetness but it is a background player.
