Sutliff is America's oldest producer of pipe tobacco, opening in 1849 in San Francisco, California as a retail shop before moving to Richmond, Virginia, in 1953 to keep up with demand for their blends. Throughout their more than a century of history, Sutliff has remained dedicated to providing pipe smokers a wide variety of high-quality blends, with their portfolio only growing stronger and more diverse as the years go by.

Part of Sutliff's Private Stock line, Moroccan Spice comprises a blend of Black Cavendish, aged Virginias, and White Burley, all enhanced by a mélange of spice. Pulled the plug on this because it sounded interesting. Not a big fan of aros, and this didn't change my husband's opinion. He really wanted to like it. I was looking forward to a spicy aroma. Tin note is light, not really alluring as one might think based on the name and tin art, which leads one to think of the spices trade of the Orient. For now, at least it doesn't have that sickening artificial sweetness that ruins aros. This is actually the complete opposite, meaning it's kind of bland. Maybe some age will help....Read More

Perfect moisture out of the tin. Nice tin note tobacco with hints of exotic spices. Great tobacco flavors with subtle spices accenting the smoke. Not on your face aromatics, but rather more subtle balancing the tobacco with the top notes.

This aromatic really does deliver on its namesake, with an enjoyable blend that really reminded me of berbere, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, etc, back with a soft vanilla note.
