This is changed, not the same. Less aroma and flavor. Used to be sweeter and a notch higher in strength too. Not like it used to be !

Tried this as I have always felt that the original red Amphora was my all time favorite 20 or so years ago.
Man was this the absolute WORST tobacco I have ever had in a pipe!

Packed my pipe..lit the char and and was immediately taken aback by the most acrid taste I can remember!
Tried to get through one bowl but could not stomach it what so ever.
Not sure this is even worth the mason jar I have it in, but since I'm in Japan and paid $12.00 US for it...it will sit in the jar till next year this time at which point I will try it again.
It will either be worth a smoke or hit the bin!

I was given this tobacco at at a cigar show. It sounded promising because of the dark fired Kentucky. After trying it, I can honestly say it tastes like typical drug store pipe tobacco. It burns hot and tastes chemically.

Nice enough. Not too sweet, mild baking spice and chocolate flavours. Mild strength and good burn. Similar to Sail Aromatic, maybe with less liquorice. If you're a fan Dutch aromatics, go for it.

ed notion. While I may be wrong, this is not the Amphora that I remember smoking in the 1970s. It is also not the same blend that was sold by Imperial Tobacco of Holland. That said, this "new" version of Amphora Full Aroma is a pretty good smoke. The flavor is very good and the room note, while lighter than I expected for a "full aroma", is nevertheless pleasant. I am reminded of the saying, "You can't go back home again." But then again, memories are sweet. Read Less

This is a very good tobacco if you're a beginner or just getting into aromatics. It does bite a bit, specially if you're new and don't know how to smoke properly. Tobacco is a bit moist out of the package, so it needs an hour or two to dry.
Taste is very floral, orange-y, lemon-y, but not overpowering which makes it ideal for those who want to try aromatics. Description says that there's supposed to be some chocolate in it as well, but I didn't taste that at all.
The room note is sweet and floral as well.
Nicotine is mild, low and could easily be an all day smoke. Read Less

d maybe some fruitiness to it. I would say that for a pouched blend, this tobacco sets the bar just under its counter part, Original Blend. I am a fan of Dark Fired Kentucky, so this is a fairly decent smoke for me, I will probably keep a couple pouches on hand. Read Less

This has turned into my morning pipe with coffee. Nice light sweetness, I taste vanilla and light fruit or floral on a solid tobacco base. The Kentucky might give it body, but no smokiness detected. A nice light way to start the day.

This is a pretty good blend. The sweetness is nice and sugary. It can get a bit weary on the palate as the day progresses.

I'll pay it anyday rather than having to settle for Borkum Riff or scour half the country to find Amphora for $55/50g tin! It's probably more that that now actually. But I digress!
This has a wonderful note - chocolate and flowers with citrus. It burns brilliantly and to my taste, is amazing. You can taste all of the wonderful flavours that have been blended in, but at the same time you can also taste the quality tobacco used. I really can't do this tobacco any justice through my limited vocabulary in this review. I probably could if I were to express my feelings with curse words in a positive light, though I wouldn't want to upset the good folks who run this establishment. This blend is wonderful. The scent from the pouch is that of a confectionary sweet. The taste is predominantly tobacco with a hint of fruits and sweets. The price at time of writing isn't bad either.

Smooth with a nice room note. This tobacco use to be produced in Holland and now in UK. I normally use wide bowl pipes.
