The tin note was just not my favorite. The flavors described were not present.
Pretty boring and disappointing

Not sure if it was just the tin I got or if they are all like this. I get almost nothing much from the tin notes, just the VaBur and Cavendish tobaccos, with zero spice, or any other notes. The smoke is pretty plain, mild, and has no spice or any other flavorings detected. Its just not remarkable in any way that I can tell. They are high quality tobacco like all C&D blends but it really kinda fails as an aromatic, and if that is what you are expecting you will be disappointed, if you are ok with it being basically a VaBur then you might enjoy it....Read More

Like many others, I find myself underwhelmed (sadly) by this blend. We all look forward to the season of joy, and we all love to reminisce about those good ol’ days, so when a blend attempts to capture both and misses the mark, it is disappointing. And in this case also rather… meh.
The nose from the tin, the flavor of the smoke and the room note are all subtle. The dark fired KY and Katerini are mostly MIA here. The flavors were fleeting and had to be searched out like waiting up on Christmas Eve to catch ol’ St. Nick himself! The vibe this blend gives is more along the lines of a decent anytime of year smoke, rather than bringing ‘holiday spirit’.
More holiday-adjacent than I had hoped for unfortunately. Again, not bad, just okay and kinda boring!?...Read More
Massive flavor, great aroma. Perfect for the Christmas season, or anytime really.

Not sure to what the bad reviews are referring to, because this stuff is top notch. Off the bat, the tin note is a scrumptious blend of campfire, brown sugar, and some natural Virginia notes laying beneath. The aroma of the smoke is quite pleasing, kinda sweet, kinda maple-y, but full bodied with that slight campfire vibe. Finally the flavor is sweet Virginia forward, with a hint of spice from the dark fired Kentucky. The Katerini adds a bit of mystique to the whole profile. This is a top notch blend, and I can’t wait to get my hands on more. Maybe the other guys in the reviews just got a bad batch....Read More
Good, but less than promised

For the advertised complexity of the base tobaccos, it mainly comes across as Virginia. It's pleasant, but for a blend that boasted an array of aromatic spices, there's little to detect besides a hint of nutmeg and a suggestion of ginger. It isn't a bad blend, and I can see myself finishing the tin easily, but it under-delivered on its claims.
EDIT: In the course of burning through the whole tin, I must say the spice in this blend was being coy. The more you smoke of this blend, the more the ginger and cinnamon come out to play. They actually complement the basic Virginia flavor very well, and I took to adding in an extra pinch of DFK which really brought the blend to full fruition. I may very well pick up more if they put out a new batch in 2025....Read More

First bowl after opening was quite underwhelming; tasted like rum blunts, smelled like gar guts and strong alcohol.
Jar and rest for 30days. Shake and open to a wonderful spice mixed with rich tobacco and sweet, boozy molasses. Still a little over spiked at first but after a few bowls, I get it. It's Saint Nicolas and Black Pete, with festivals and candy in shoes. Long ago, when 50fr waffles were plenty.
Good smoke for sittin' and great for brisk weather....Read More

First pipe. First blend. First smoke. The rest will be history of a memorable journey. The process of learning to stop, step back, give attention and thought to your surroundings by taking a moment to reflect on this journey is priceless. Thank you C&D for these golden days.

I was hoping for a little more “Christmas spirit” I guess.. There’s not enough pine, cedars or cinnamon qualities there to make me want to classify it as a Christmas blend. It’s not horrible but GDOY is I guess you could say somewhat of a sleeper for me, it’s missing the “wow” factor.. My 2 tins should last me my lifetime....Read More

Tin notes yielded no notes of rum, ginger, allspice etc. Beginning of the bowl was grassy and earthy; a slight undefined sweetness emerged at the bottom of the bowl but this was brief. Very disappointing versus C&D's Jolly Old St. Nicholas which is great with all its ginger and holiday spice....Read More
