First bowl after opening was quite underwhelming; tasted like rum blunts, smelled like gar guts and strong alcohol. Jar and rest for 30days. Shake and open to a wonderful spice mixed with rich tobacco and sweet, boozy molasses. Still a little over spiked at first but after a few bowls, I get it. I was hoping for a little more “Christmas spirit” I guess.. There’s not enough pine, cedars or cinnamon qualities there to make me want to classify it as a Christmas blend. It’s not horrible but GDOY is I guess you could say somewhat of a sleeper for me, it’s missing the “wow” factor.. My 2 tins should last me my lifetime....Read More

Fell for the season

With Christmas right around the corner I wanted to be ready for the season so I picked up a tin to see if it would fit the spirit of the season. I popped the tin looking forward to experiencing the joyful tin note as described and it fell flat on it's face... nothing even remotely close to what was advertised. Not wanting to give up on first impressions I went ahead and packed the pipe and once again it fell flat on it's face... nothing. I am not yet willing to write it off completely but I don't have high hopes on finding any redeeming qualities. I'll give it a month to breath and give it another shot but odds are I won't be picking up a second tin. Last thoughts: If it is advertised as a unique holiday blend then it should at the very least harken feelings of Christmas beyond the artwork on the label, but sadly the artwork is the best you are going to get. I was excited to receive a tin of this blend and opened it just yesterday for my first smoke. Honestly, I didn't smell or taste anything remotely along the lines of "the traditional flavors and aromas of the season." This just tasted and smelled like tobacco to me. This blend is sublime. I was worried with it being an aromatic that that would overpower the tobacco. But this is a great tobacco to sip and just enjoy all the flavors.
