those orientals find their way into the mix. I've heard this could be an all day smoke, but I usually like to end my day with it. The strength of the nic isn't going to push you over however, if you're looking for that I'd go with nightcap. This blend is awesome, Smokey (Latakia) with sweet/incense/spice from the orientals coming to the forefront throughout the smoke. A good Balkan blend, very similar to White Knight. Although I do prefer White Knight over this blend.

This blend is really really good, and is now my #1 favorite. If you like musty, smokey flavors with that tang of oriential leaf give this a try. Its really smooth also and everything blends together nicely. For comparison purposes I would say this is a bit darker and richer than London Mixture, and more savory than Plum Pudding (which I think is just a hint on the sweet side). Hope this helps boys. time! This is a near perfect smoke. It has that same "red" character as DLM. Yeasty, like an irish ale. Almost nutty to my palate, redolent with red Va. Wonderfully aromatic turkish adds just the right amount of sour and the latakia is slightly more than condimental. The cut is much more of a ribbon than other C&D made english blends which, for me, makes the act of smoking it much more pleasurable. The latakia presents more toward the finish of the bowl. A medium smoke, but in no way mediocre. Now if I could just find analogues for the list of McClelland blends I'm missing.. Read Less

nd after different meals. I have had many English tobaccos in my experience and this is one I'll forget about and never buy again.
The cut is rather coarse; colossal chunks with many stems in the tin. As many others have found to be the case, I too had trouble keeping this tobacco lit. The flavour has potential, but it only came through with extreme rubbing of the blend in order to thin it out. So all three factors combined made this an unfortunate but learning experience. I don't like to criticize any brand at all, but there were too many negatives with this blend, and there are many fine tobaccos on the market to choose from. Read Less

n as I got home and packed a bowl in a briar, thus blend came to life. This stuff is mouth watering and definitely draws you into wanting bowl after bowl. The balance is just right where it's not too overwhelming but enough to satisfy many aspects that I look for as a pipe smoker. It smells great, tastes great, smokes great, pairs great with morning coffee, mid-day drive or evening dram. My tin was 3-4 years old and already crystallizing so I wonder how much age has influenced this particular batch. My favorite english has been Father Dempsey but this stuff may be my new number 1. ul ribbon cut with absolutely perfect moisture. I smoked it in a Ropp pipe with a fairly small chamber, and wasn't terribly impressed. I then started working through the pipes I reserve for blends with latakia, and it smokes like a dream in a big bent pot and in a Dublin I have. I've been smoking at least one bowl a day of this for over a week. It's actually helped me become a better pipe smoker. I've slowed down my cadence and it's made all the difference. I often want to just puff like a freight train, but now that I know that I am capable of smoking slowly, I'm doing it more often. This is a beautiful, dry smoke. It's a little incensey, it's a little smokey, and to be honest, it's almost gone. I will be ordering this on a regular basis from here on out. A true "All Day English." Read Less

This middle of the line english reminds me a bit of Meridian in the Old London collection. Definitely Latakia forward but the supporting tobaccos are present making a well rounded blend you could smoke daily.

’s not my favorite Latakia blend but it could be my favorite English style. Easy to smoke and very enjoyable. Sort of like a bowl of really good soup, overall yummy but biting into any component let’s it be recognized. My everyday smokes are all Burleys. This offers a nice change of pace while letting Pease’ expertise shine through. Read Less

Delicious English blend. Nutty, earthy sweetness from the Virginia's with a slight tang from the orientals and silky smoky smooth finish from the Latakia. Awesome blend. Fairly new to pipe smoking but I love it so much. One of my favorites.

Just completed my 4th bowl. Pure bliss. Billowing smoke, soft smooth and quite complex. An ‘all day’ smoke but starting the day with this and a good strong covefe makes me human. Dont talk o me untill this ‘riual’ is complete. A smokers delight.

A great tribute to a rare tobacco taste indeed. My favourite tobacco when it comes to smoking over and over again in the same pipe. Goes well with Blackpoint G.L. Peas. Westminster is strong but not overly so. Would be good inside.

able to pack it properly. It seemed dissatisfied with a light pack and a heavier pack, three pinch or the Frank method. I had trouble lighting it and keeping it lit. It burned hot almost every time, and its palate offering turned out to be rather limited. I did not find any bright flavours, just wood smoke and light taste. Even though it did give off a substantial volume of creamy smoke, that did not endear me to this blend. Perhaps I shall look at it differently some years from now.
I still recommend this blend to others. This is not my cup of tea, but I am not the only tea drinker alive. I know long-time smokers who adore this blend. Give it a puff.

I suppose, could be called humble -- but most definitely not meek; a few sonorous tones fluidly interweave, and then leave, a mellow-deep aftertaste. I find it singularly odd and pleasing that the word that most comes to mind when I think of this tobacco is, rotund.
Alas, there was a day not too long in the past, when the afternoon concluding in an ethereally gloomy dusk, I puffed on a pipe of Westminster, and it blossomed to a truly exceptional smoke. I mean to say, that despite some meadiocre bowls, do not lose hope (that cheap thing, sweet thing) too soon, as perhaps the moment most suited for that particular leaf has not come.
In response to Mark G: I almost always dry (using the heat of the sun, a pre-warmed oven, heater, or fire) my tobaccos to a moistureless fluffyness (avoiding scorching them to the point when they become crisp and crumbled to dust) for a well-burning smoke. And certainly increasing the surface area available to combustion (that is cutting it up) will increase the ease of burning -- when I roll fags of pipe tobacco (Westminster does not make a good cigarette alone however) I always do this. Sorry I just did not fall in love with this blend. I found it a little dry and rather rough. I must admit I am not an "English" blend smoker so my opinion is just that, mine.

Westminster has never failed to produce a good, solid, English smoke for me. I have yet to experience a truly GREAT pipe full of it, but I have never had a less than a pleasing one. To me, that is worth 4 stars; just not a consistently GREAT 5.

I absolutely love this blend and will definitely cellar some. Tastes like it would only get better with time. This blend is as British as a Union Jack. Tastes and smells like an aristocrat's study. A must-try for any English blend fan.
