Cigars all the way down
July 20, 2016
Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
Excellent smoke! Cigar leaf prominent from the beginning and persists throughout the bowl. Flavor strong, but not harsh and well balanced by the other components. Definitely earns its “4 dot” ratings. The nicotine level is, shall we say, robust?! Don... Read More
’t expect to stand up right away after the bowl. If you like cigars, this is the blend for you. Other pipe blends claim to be “cigar-like”; this one delivers. Read Less
Cigar Blend Sleeper

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
Cigar upfront, orientals & VA bringing up the rear, perique nowhere to be found, there's a bit of spice in the retrohale but not the peppercorn spice you expect which makes me think it's coming from the cigar. I'm convinced there is either zero p... Read More
erique in this at all or it was so delicately applied as to alter the flavor profile without making it noticeable on it's own. Either way, this is a top-tier cigar blend, it has a sort of "quiet strength" that is very satisfying but never overwhelming, great with coffee. Definitely worth keeping a tin or two around. Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
Tin note of mildly pungent, sugared raisins and tangy hay. Tobacco is a Ribbon of reddish brown, tan and dark brown. Moisture content is great. Burns moderate with few relights. The strength is medium to strong and nic is medium. No flavoring detecte... Read More
d. Taste is medium to full and mostly consistent, with notes of leather, very woody, musty vegetation, floral, very spicy cigar, herbal spices, bready, fig, sugar, tangy plums, lemon citrus, rich earth, dry, sweet grass, orange peel/zest, slight acidic, a semi-sweet nutty background note, and a very peppery retro. Cigar barely takes the lead from the Virginias with Oriental/Turkish and Perique supporting. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great. Read Less

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
I have enjoyed many cigars in my time so finding a quality pipe blend offering a good cigar flavor naturally gets my attention.
Flavors are upfront with nice changes during the bowl highlighting the tasty cigar leaf.

sweeter than one might guess and overall there is a nice smooth character.
The cigar leaf is framed well in the profile, not too much, not too little, with a steady rise of spicy flavor toward the end of a bowl.
Recommend to all Enthusiasts and newcomers wanting to taste a fine cigar over a VaPer base.
Easy to enjoy, Power level was a tic under medium but might rise in larger bowls. Read Less

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
Only recently discovered this blend after coming to really like Waccama & Edisto. This feels like the stronger older brother of the three. Much has been said of the cigar-like taste - as a regular cigar smoker I can see the comparison, but this... Read More
has a well-rounded cavendish spice that is a little darker in sensation than most cigar leaf flavors. Probably best w/ 3-4 years of age. Suggest this if you like a more gingerbread/medium espresso flavor set. On the robust side. Read Less

Cigar Forward?

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
I am not a cigar smoker. However, I found this tobacco pleasant, both in taste and a tolerable room note. Burns easily and not bite unless pushed. Nicotine is on the high side. Even if one is not into to cigars, this tobacco is worth a try.
Didn't work for me

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
I'm not sure why, but I never figured out what to do to make this work for me. I may try it again, but I've already got favorites in this genre, so I'm not in a hurry to try to like another one.

You can smell and taste the cigar in this blend. All those nuances get through despite your senses being tainted from the first drag.
Very Impressive

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
Been on a cigar blend kick for a few months now. None of them tastes or smells like a cigar. Guendalose doesn't taste like a cigar either but it is a warm and creamy smoke. This blend gets high marks in strength, room note and taste. It is suppose to... Read More
be strong. In fact it is very pleasant. I smoke this stuff around others and they love the aroma. Sometimes I believe I catch a shadow of a cigar ghost in the aroma. Flavor is very sweet and tasty. It smokes dry. Try it! You'll like it! Read Less
Cigar leaf stands out
January 30, 2020
Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
This is a good strong blend. The cigar leaf definitely stands out over the other component tobacco, but doesn't overpower them. It is strong, but I didn't get the nicotine hit described by others. I will have to try other Low Country blends.

Product: Low Country Guendalose 2oz
Let me start off by saying: this September will be 47 years smoking a pipe. The good about this blend: spicy, like eating a good taco. The bad: burns to fast and caused a severe tongue bite. This blend is NOT for the inexperienced pipe smoker!!! Smok... Read More
e this blend real slow. I actually had the hick-ups from my last smoke. I've also done my own blends for over 40 years, so I will be adding either a black cavendish or BCA to tone it down a bit. Before you purchase try a sample for yourself.
Update: the reason why the bite, to much moisture in this blend. There is suppose to be no more then 13% moisture in tobacco. This blend was at 18%. My cure: I heated my oven to 200 degrees and put the open tin inside and shut the oven off. I removed the tin in 20 minutes and now this blend smokes perfect. I rate it now at " 4 " STARS. IVE BEEN MAKING A SIMILAR BLEND WITH CIGAR TOBACCO FOR MANY YEARS. ASK FOR A SAMPLE OF THIS BLEND AND TRY FOR YOURSELF. Read Less
