Peterson's Irish Dew is a luxury mixture of well-matured Virginias and toasted Burley tobaccos with whiskey and blossom fruit undertones. The sweet hint of vanilla and touch of chocolate arising from the toasted Burley give this tobacco an exceptional finish. The blend is pressed into cakes and rubbed out, enhancing the natural aroma of the tobacco.
Definitely! This a superb smoke anytime of day or night. This is an aro but it's more like an Aro that non-Aro smokers would burn when they crave an Aro, if that makes sense ;) Mild, sweet, cool, rich in fruity sweetness and vanilla undertones on ... If you know you like Virginia blends then give this one a try. Nice grassy hay note, with a touch of nutiness , and a slight spice on the back end. I smoke Virgina blends and/or VaPer daily. I was greeted with a nice Virginia smoke that I really enjo... Read Morey. If you are looking for a typical aromatic this is not it. If you have the taste for Virginia you can appreciate this one. I bought a pouch of this simply because of the reviews, I wanted to see why it got such poor comments. I opened the pouch and was greeted with a heavy chocolate note from the burley tobacco, and the typical smell you get from Virginia. Upon lighting... Toward the end of the bowl, I started to get the pleasant feeling you get from the nicotine. It wasn't very strong, but it was certainly enough for me. I think a lot of people are disappointed with this because the description isn't really anything like the smoke - I must be honest, I could only taste the Virginia and didn't notice any hint of vanilla etc. However I'm not a fan of straight Virginia yet I keep coming back to this, so I must be able to detect something else.
Well done, Peterson, but please change that description on the pouch! Read Less
When I first opened the pouch, it smelled great, a little cocoa, whiskey and good burley tobacco. However the pouch note didn't really translate to the smoke, I found it to be kind of bland and boring. I'm going to add a little perique to this tobacc... I found rubbing it out and allowing it to air for awhile produced a most pleasant aroma and smooth pleasant smoke. I found it easy to light and burned completely to the bottom of the bowl. The flavor to me is a sweet vanilla/coconut and very pleasing.... Read More

After opening the pouch I found very little aroma. As a matter of fact, it smelled quite bland, as I was expecting some of the fruit/vanilla that this product is advertised as having. It lights easily in my Savinelli half-bent apple, but I was very u... Read Morenimpressed with the flavor and aroma. It's almost as if this tobacco was packaged without the flavoring! The chocolate showed up faintly in the aftertaste, but I perceived absolutely no "vanilla" or "blossom" notes. If the taste and aroma is supposed to be light, then it has definitely floated away. The burley has a bit of a bite, but as a straight tobacco it is of good quality. I have found Peterson tobaccos to be either great or a bit non-distinctive. This is one of the latter. I favor Connemara much more than Irish Dew. I'll give it another try, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I just don't get what Peterson was up to, here. Read Less
I was not impressed with my first smoke of the Irish Dew at all. So much so, I showed it to the back and rather forgot about it. However, when my new Peterson Tankard arrived I felt compelled to have the Irish Dew be the first smoke through. This ti... Read Moreme I took the time to rub out the ribbons thoroughly first. What a difference this made! All the layers of sweetness, fruit, vanilla and chocolate popped right out. I'd agree with Edward above; an aro for the non-aro smoker.
