This excellent Peterson mixture is a blend of first choice Virginia, Burley, and black Cavendish. Sunset Breeze promises a unique smoking experience, which is crowned by a wonderful amaretto aroma that also gives enjoyment to the smokers' surroundings.
I tried this blend when I was a "newby" about 12 years ago. This stuff tasted pretty good but was a bit rough on my palate. The tin aroma smells good enough to eat...if it only smoked like that. The nicotine content of this mix was a bit lacking for... Read More me in Vitamin N & smoked a tad harsh. Not bad for an aromatic but just didn't ring my bell. I've since moved to "topped" rather than heavily cased tobaccos when I feel like a change of pace... they always seem to burn cooler. I didn't get much tobacco flavor out of this that I was expecting. Not too awfully bad, however & the cellar won't help this stuff. My rating is based only on the merits of an aromatic blend. Sampled in a Peterson Deluxe System 9S & a 312 System Pete. I like Peterson pipes & most of their tobaccos, however. Read Less
Amaretto was evident in the tin aroma. This blend requires a slow smoke/sipping cadence or it will bite you. The amaretto flavor lasted between 1/4 and 1/2 of the bowl for me before it was gone and was replaced with a generic sweet flavor. Overall it... Read More is a decent blend. Read Less
My personal opinion is this is a good tobacco for my tastes. I love the smell and my wife doesn't complain about it like she does others. If you burn through tobacco quickly it can bite, but if you smoke slowly like I do its cool without a bite.
Ayax g. in his earlier review is entirely correct. This is a good smoke if not rushed. This is my first aromatic since becoming a serious pipe smoke four or five years ago. I stayed clear of them because of their reputation and I needed to become... Read More more adept. This proved to be a nice introduction. When the tin is first opened you must spend some time preparing the tobacco before loading the pipe. It must be a looser pack than normal English blends and care must be taken in subsequent tamping. At the first hint of bite, slow down. The bowl smokes clean down to white ash, very little bite and the rebreathing is very enjoyable. Bottom line, if you have time for a leisurely smoke where you can pay attention to the bowl, this tobacco is very pleasant. Read Less
One of the first aromatics i learned to like. It has a rich aroma with mild to medium strength and strong amaretto flavour.
A must for lovers of strong aromatics.

The smoke is a bit tangy, sweet on tongue, tad spicy on the retrohale. With strong start and soft development in where virginias take the prevalent note. Only at the very end the burley shows a note or two.
It is understandable why some people detest this, it is strong cased, and rich in sugars, so it tends to become agressive when puffed too hard (something that may easily happen as the flavour is seducing or the smoker may demand more nuances from the smoke)
Overall, not too complex, rich in flavour and good in ingredients but one needs the mood and the weather to smoke it.
I would say it is for advanced smokers. Read Less

Its okay. The tin smells great. To me the taste just isn't there. There are better aromatics out there that have both the smell and taste combined. I love the amaretto smell when it's in the tin. When I smoked it there was a nice aroma, but for some reason gave me quite a bit of tongue bite. This one goes great on a warm summer evening with a nice cold drink. The Amaretto flavor comes through nicely and plays off of the leaf very well. It burns evenly and cool. Definitely an aromatic worth trying.
