he right amount of flavor essences to enhance the best of what the components have to offer. The aroma from a freshly opened tin can make you want to eat it, lol. Once lit, the best part is that most of the tin note translates to flavor. The Burley nuttiness shines through, but where you may expect Walnut flavor, here it tastes like a buttery pecan. This marries well with the Black Cavendish and Virginia sweetness and calls to mind flavors associated with praline or peanut brittle. The Orientals help metamorphose the normal flavors you'd expect. It tastes like pecan pie to me, from the candied pecans and buttered flaky crust to the ooey gooey creamy mixture within. But, somehow Stanwell manages to do this without making the tobacco overly saturated itself. I find the moisture level good (as aromatics go) and the ribbon cut is great for ease of packing and lighting. It could be dried before if you prefer without losing too much flavor, but it's not necessary. Because it is so high in sugars, it can bite if you huff' 'n' puff' quickly. Just slow down and enjoy the fine taste. Believe it or not, this has some depth to it. About halfway through the bowl when the topping is spent, rather than becoming tasteless as many aromatics would, it becomes more natural tasting and mellows into a nice all-day VA/Burley sort of smoke. The finish is reminiscent of a glass of tea to rinse the palate. I think this would appeal to fans of Sutliff's Creme Brulee or Peterson's Sweet Killarney. Enjoy. Read Less

This tobacco liked a bit of drying time out of the tin. The tin note and flavor were fantastic, but if smoked too fast, I got a little bit of a bite.

This tastes like a premium version of Middletons Hickory, same aroma and all but much better than its drugstore counterpart. Its an aromatic with some tobacco taste and kick. I like it .

o medium, with notes Apricot and Vanilla. Vanilla fizzles in the first 1/4, then the apricots fizzle out around the 1/2-way point. Taste is mild to medium and consistent, with notes of marshmallow, toast, wood, spice, bread, dry, fermented vegetation, molasses, cocoa, creamy, nuts, brown sugar, floral, fermented, peaty, a grassy background note, and a mostly smooth retro. Not as much flavor as I was expecting, still over all, not a bad smoke. Nice room note, even burning, smooth tobacco, just lacking a little in flavor. I prefer the Stanwell Vanilla over this one.

etness goes hand in hand with this Stanwell treasure; they totally compliment one another. Finally, I Christened a new Peterson with it, and that pipe was crazy about it too.
