creating and maintaining roast profiles for blends and single origin roasts for a specialty coffee company. That said, I am regularly tasked at categorizing flavors in coffee, such as tobacco for example. I’m just not getting coffee folks. Perhaps a Starbucks caramel macchiato, and that’s about as far as I can go. I’ve given it several attempts in clay and meerschaum, I’m afraid to put it in a briar due to the overwhelmingly sweet aromatics. If you like yankee candles, you’ll like the room note. Me, not so much of a fan. But we all have our own likes and dislikes. As for the smoke, I find it to be bitter, bland and burnt tasting. If you like darkly roasted coffee, this may appeal to you. If you do, that’s okay I’m not trying to put you down, we could probably still be poker buddies, just probably not fishing buddies. I think I’m just not a flavored tobacco kind of guy. This is an excellent aromatic pipe tobacco. It is not your Grandpas aromatic. It is tobacvo forward with a great coffee chocolate topping. It smokes cool and does not mess up your pipe. Lovely stuff. I wish I had bought more.

offee. What you have here is a blend of tobacco's that give an ephemeral sense of something similar to that brief crema on top of an espresso… you know, the oils that vanish after a minute. But never mistake tobacco for actual coffee. That would be weird.
The cut of the tobacco is wonderful, as is the blend. Smoked slowly the tobacco is cool, and has those hints of some thing like coffee, but not coffee. It burns to a nice fine gray ash and it generally doesn't need much relighting.
Some of the cigar leaf needs to be torn up, or balled up before loading into the pipe, but that's no big deal.
This is such a subtle aromatic that I hesitate to even call it an aromatic, but the blend of tobaccos and the process they go through creates a unique flavor that can go all day.
At one point when I ran out of Saint Espresso, I tried to re-create it in some fashion using C&D Espresso and John Cottons Creme, I just took the plug of John Cotton and smothered it in the C&D Espresso and closed the tin and let it sit for a while. Very quickly the plug took on and absorbed the espresso and it wasn't bad at all, definitely sweeter yet still easy to smoke, but there is no way in hell that it compares to Saint Espresso.

Burns well out of the tin. Has a lovely creamy coffee top that isn't overwhelming. The only issue I have is that it's hard to find in stock!

It's a great short excursion, but sadly halfway in and it drops on my awesomeness scale, being a bit bland, though I expected a bit more cigar taste, i didn't get it.
Still have 1 unopen tin that's sitting in a cellar.
