Danish Estates: Tom Eltang Smooth Bent Egg (Late 1990s)

Personally, I find Eltang's bent Eggs hard to resist, and assumed that I had seen pretty much every all of his major iterations within the milieu. Then, of course, I pulled this near-mint baby out of the describing tray and developed an immediate mind cramp. This is beautiful - how on earth did I miss this execution? The era of production provided me with an answer. While having a hand (to one extent or another) in retail pipe sales for well over three decades, prior to 2000, I had precious little exposure to the Danish carving legends. When this handsome hanger was created, I didn't know an Eltang from an orangutan. While this bent Egg doesn't bear a stamp, if made today, I would be pretty surprised if it didn't garner a Snail grade - or a price so dear that one would just assume pay a bit more and get the stamp.
