Danish Estates: Stanwell Fine Briar De Luxe Smooth (460) (Regd. No.) (1948-1960s)

Product Number: 004-001-14583

With almost two full inches of chamber depth, this is Stanwell's take on the old Stack/Chimney shape — though one that applies the classic Danish sense of flow and softness of line to the old English archetype. With a lifting heel, soft transition, and sleek lines of bowl, shank, and stem, it's a piece that is as attractive as it is comfortable in hand. Made sometime between 1948 and the mid-1960s, it's picked up some rim charring, carbonizing in the chamber and some handling marks, but condition is quite good overall.
