Danish Estates: Former Freehand Smooth Bent Dublin
Product Number: 004-001-15558
We've seen a fair number of Dublins over the years from Hans "Former" Nielsen, yet nothing quite like this. One of the Danish master's more fanciful designs, it combines the chamber depth and overall height of a Stack with graceful tapering lines and a Nautilus-like sweeping curve to the shank end. While Nautilus and Nautilus-inspired designs can often be rather difficult to hold comfortably, this interpretation actually feels right at home when gripped, due to the extra height of the bowl, a smooth, sweeping heel, and a slight elongation of the transition. Apart from that, it's also a perfect shape for showcasing the block's natural grain patterns — with all that extra height accentuating the long, finely-stranded licks of flame.- Andrew Wike
