Danish Estates: Former Smooth Bent Apple with Horn

Product Number: 004-001-15918

Hans "Former" Nielsen certainly has a penchant for spherical forms, his Apple shapes in particular often showing an especially charming sense of substance. This fellow is certainly one of those, and it also happens to showcase the carver's adeptness at choosing blocks with remarkable presentations of grain. Indeed, a full 360-degree spread of flame envelopes the bowl, bolstered by broad swaths of birdseye at the underside, all highlighted by one of Former's stunning contrasts. Complemented by a creamy bit of horn at the shank-end, this fellow is certainly one that will offer a newfound elegance to just about any collection. Only some minor rim darkening; otherwise condition is good.
