Danish Estates: Emil Chonowitsch Sandblasted Dublin
Product Number: 004-001-16175
A sleek-lined, compact take on the Dublin, this smoker from Emil Chonowitsch is a prime example of the Danish carver's work: A slender, slightly oval shank and stem combination gives way to a significantly taller bowl up front. It's considerably canted for a well balanced posture, flaring consistently toward the rim, while the curve of the transition perfectly matches that of the heel. Thanks to a flattened underside, it sits upright, and the dark sandblast is full of exquisite texture — quite the piece from the father of famed Jess Chonowitsch. The stem was over buffed and there's some rim darkening, but condition otherwise is quite good still.-Truett Smith
