Danish Estates: Nording Smooth Dublin (89)
Product Number: 004-001-16933
Erik Nording is well-known for his curation of the Danish Fancy style, being one of the only carvers to still fashion the wildly organic Freehands of that tradition. Such a portfolio makes this Dublin quite surprising — the Danish Fancy style being an exaggerated rejection of shape chart standards and an "anything goes" approach to shaping. Erik Nording maintains a healthy respect for classics, though, and presents them on occasion, with this piece representing a long-shanked, Canadian-esque version of the traditional Dublin.-Truett Smith
