Danish Estates: Stanwell Facet Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin (1970s-1990s)
Product Number: 004-001-17512
Stawell's "163," designed by Jess Chonowitsch, is here presented in a partial sandblast, with the near-side left panel of the bowl and upper shank smooth to reveal the grain, and the lower shank and far right panel doing the same. That grain continues on the other panels, but in a sandblasted texture that highlights the vertical growth rings. A brass accent band at the end of the shank is matched by the brass Stanwell logo on the saddle stem. Shank and stem both continue the panels until the reduction at the saddle stem. The sandblasted rim is slightly domed, and the composition as a whole combines elements that are beautiful and skillfully executed.- Chuck Stanion
