Danish Estates: Stanwell O.S.S. Series (134) (B) (1970s-1990s)
Product Number: 004-001-16957
This "134" bent Egg from Stanwell, designed by Tom Eltang, exhibits much of the carver's penchant for muscular gesture in profile. There's also a bit of plumpness to the bowl's midsection around the equator, allowing for a substantial feel in hand. Coupled with all that, it showcases the Danish school's characteristic muscularity and sense of flourish, as exampled by the acutely flared shank, terminating in a push-style mount arrangement bolstered by a brass ring inlay. Finished in a warm chestnut stain, there's no shortage of charm to this briar.- Jeffery Sitts
