Danish Estates: Anne Julie Smooth Bent Egg

Product Number: 004-001-18599

When her husband, Poul Rasmussen, passed away, Anne Julie took over the workshop and became, for some time, the most famous female pipe maker. It was a fairly empty category for a while, happily changing as more and more talented women demonstrate their skills. This bent Egg offers soft curves in its transition to the diminutive shank, which expands slightly before meeting the stem, itself expanding at its base before dropping to saddle configuration. It's an organic presentation, reminiscent of Julius Vesz in its distinctive bend and high transition, but it's all Anne Julie, especially in regard to the independent nature of the bowl and its meticulous curvature.
