Danish Estates: Emil Chonowitsch Smooth Dublin
Product Number: 004-001-17854
Though overshadowed by the fame his son Jess would eventually attain, Emil Chonowitsch was a great pipe maker in his own right — something more collectors do certainly seem to have noticed in recent years. In other words, don't expect surviving examples of Emil Chonowitsch's work to get any easier to get a hold of in the years to come. This one is a fine and trim take on the straight Dublin, upright of bowl and with more of a forward disposition than is usual for Emil's work, and beautifully presented in a chestnut stain to enhance the grain.- Chuck Stanion
