Danish Estates: Former Smooth Bent Apple with Boxwood

Product Number: 004-001-19141

While Hans "Former" Nielsen is well know for his affection for the Apple shape, this rendition is an unusual version for him. Rather than the usually straight and short and generally traditional approach he most often takes, here we find a bulbous bowl with a high, independent transition and a slender, oval shank with just a whisper of bend. The palette is dark, but it ably highlights the tight vertical grain that dominates the bowl, and is contrasted by an elegant band of boxwood. Light, comfortable, and well balanced, this Apple is in great condition, with just a bit of rim darkening to consider.
