Danish Estates: Tom Eltang Sandblasted Tomato (Scandinavian Pipes 15th Anniversary)
Product Number: 004-001-18965
Tomato renditions from Tom Eltang are relatively rare but are always welcome sights when they come through our doors. This offering from the Danish artisan is a particularly ripe one and was crafted in 2014 to commemorate Scandinavian Pipes' 15th Anniversary. It displays the gentle lines and supple curves associated with Danish pipe making as well as Eltang's expertise and immaculate craftsmanship. The bowl is affably rounded, wearing its waistline high and finished in a light-depth sandblast that has unveiled a pleasant array of undulating ring grain around its flanks. The rim's innermost portion is smooth and slopes inward to the tobacco chamber, which offers ample space to accommodate any desired mixture. Additional smoothness is displayed at the shank-end before meeting the stem, which features a single expansion disc for further visual interest before terminating in a barely perceptible downturn.- Jeffery Sitts
