Danish Estates: Preben Holm Fancy Straight Grain Dublin (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-001-18873
Among the most well-known Danish carvers of the 1970s and early '80s, Preben Holm made the Danish Fancy Freehand recognizable worldwide. This piece, however, reflects a more restrained aesthetic than is typically found in the brand. This Dublin is more classically structured than the Freehands, though it reveals some creative attention to the shank, which undulates as it extends to the mouthpiece. The grain is particularly notable and wonderfully elevated by the light contrast stain. It's imbued with forward momentum in profile, and maintains a sporty aesthetic with its canted bowl and flat rim. It's offered here in unsmoked condition.- Chuck Stanion
