Danish Estates: Ben Wade Danish Hand Model Sandblasted Freehand (100)
Product Number: 004-001-19224
While Ben Wade's smooth-polished pieces may garner the most attention from collectors, the Preben Holm workshop, where Danish Ben Wades were made, produced a very handsome sandblast as well. This bold, gestural Freehand is an excellent example of that finishing technique, the overall texture being quite light, with only the softer portions of the briar blasted away. Waves of ring grain climb the flanks of the towering, deep-chambered bowl and provide plenty of intriguing texture.- Andrew Wike
