Danish Estates: Ingo Garbe Smooth Bent Brandy (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-001-19239
Minimalism is key when it comes to Ingo Garbe's work. As a pipe maker, he works exclusively within the realm of Danish classics and finishes all his designs in smooth polishes, without any kind of accents or ornamentation. Using this approach, he allows the shaping and the grain of each and every piece he creates to speak for themselves. This particular example is a sinuously bent, bowl-centric Brandy with the towering bowl commanding the majority of the piece's visual weight with the shank-and-stem combination trailing away in the distance. Prominent cheeking around the transition supports the bowl's curvaceousness, with birdseye patterns dominating the flanks of the tapered bowl. A beautiful piece that will satisfy any grain aficionado and should appeal to the traditionalist side in anyone. It's presented here in unsmoked condition.- Andrew Wike
