Danish Estates: W.O. Larsen Sandblasted Bent Dublin (224)

Product Number: 004-001-19434

A poised and trim Dublin from W.Ø. Larsen, this piece features a medium-deep sandblast highlighting undulating horizontal growth rings as they circle the bowl. The transition is low, contributing to the vertical precedence of the bowl, with a transition of soft contours introducing a cylindrical shank that ascends in a "checkmark" profile before the sturdy mouthpiece offers its balancing downward bend. The plateau rim provides a natural aesthetic and additional textural diversity. The W.Ø. Larsen workshop was a place where many famous carvers plied their craft, employing such names as Teddy Knudsen, Jess Chonowitsch, Peter Hedegaard, and Tonni Nielsen, and though we can't identify the individual craftsman who created this pipe, it's certainly of a quality deserving of its heritage.
