Danish Estates: Stanwell Smooth Horn with Bamboo (1970s-1990s)

Stanwell made this Horn in the latter part of the 20th century, the design a timeless example that incorporates two pale knuckles of bamboo into the shank. Originally used during World War Two when briar was in short supply, bamboo endures as an attractive and hardy alternative medium for pipe making, most often found in shank extensions like this one. It's paired here to a swooping, gently flaring bowl, and topped by a slightly bent vulcanite stem bearing Stanwell's iconic logo
