Danish Estates: Peter Hedegaard Smooth Bent Brandy (FP3) Tobacco Pipe

Peter Hedegaard's style fluctuates between reserved, quiet designs and more bold, wild shapes. This Brandy I'd say falls somewhere in the middle, not in a generally lukewarm manner, but rather combining soft lines and curves and a classic Danish bowl with one of Peter's signature low-slung, high-lifting transitions. Aside from being nothing short of beautiful in profile, this piece is a pleasure in hand, particularly in the way the shank and transition have been tapered to allow a grip to more fully cover the smooth waistline of the bowl. A smooth finish and dark contrast stain elegantly dress streaks of flame grain all around the plump bowl, while a dark amber-hued acrylic saddle stem completes a unified aesthetic.
