Exquisitely balanced, handsomely presented, and masterfully executed, this Billiard from Bjarne Nielsen is simply a beautiful piece of pipe making. Just a touch over five inches in total length, this piece possesses a towering bowl that stands at the fore of an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The rounded features of the bowl work in concert with the oval shank to soften the appearance of the overall composition in profile, allowing the elegant curves and understated shaping of the design take center stage. Free of unnecessary visual noise or accouterments, this piece offers a lightweight presence in hand, with plenty of space across the cheeked transition to drape a digit. It's all finished in a warm, traditional smooth finish that showcases fine stands of windswept flame grain on either flank of the bowl.
