Danish Estates: Kent Rasmussen Smooth Cherrywood with Boxwood (Two Star) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-32381

Kent Rasmussen's educational background in engineering and architecture has translated quite well into his pipe making, with this sculptural take on the Cherrywood melding modern stylistic cues with more traditional design. The towering, forward-leaning and downward tapering bowl sits atop an angled, flattened heel, with the broad, gently overhanging, domed rim made of handsome boxwood. The more slender, gesturally upcurling shank extends from a mid-set transition and also flares at its end into an expansion disc of the same hardwood. A high-reaching, vulcanite stem takes over, then, its base displaying a similar adornment for quite the dynamic, flourishing pipe. It's dressed in a warm honey stain, unveiling beautiful, tight-knit striations of flame grain engulfing all flanks, with a golden-tan stain seen on the generous displays of boxwood.
